Indian telecommunications operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has reported a reduction in its quarterly losses for the first quarter, supported by higher per-user earnings and steady top-line growth. The company announced that its net loss narrowed to Rs 3,754 crore, reflecting steady operational gains over the period.
Revenue Growth Driven by Per-User Earnings
During the quarter, Vodafone Idea generated consolidated revenue of Rs 11,689 crore, representing a 6% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The revenue growth was primarily anchored by higher average revenue per user (ARPU), as subscribers spent more on telecommunication services.
This uptick in operational revenue helped soften the company's financial burn, continuing a trend of improved financial metrics compared to earlier quarters.
Entering the Execution Phase in FY27
Alongside its quarterly performance report, Vodafone Idea highlighted a strategic operational shift. The telecommunications firm announced that it has officially entered its 'Execution Phase' in FY27, signaling an intensified focus on infrastructure rollouts, service upgrades, and sustainable long-term financial recovery.
Financial Outlook
The narrowing of net losses to Rs 3,754 crore marks a key milestone for Vi as it balances aggressive capital expenditures with efforts to lift subscriber monetization across its markets.
