The Cyberabad Police have taken a firm stance following a tragic accident in Khajaguda, recommending the cancellation of the driving licence of B. Shiva Sandeep Sai Anand, son of prominent art director and TTD board member Anand Sai. The move comes after a fatal collision on August 31 that claimed one life and left another injured.

A Chain of Tragic Events

The morning of August 31 turned deadly on the road connecting Nanakramguda ORR Rotary and Khajaguda. Nanda Kishor Kumar Ray, a hotel helper from Bihar, was crossing the road when he was struck by a vehicle. What followed was a heartbreaking sequence of events that would leave one man dead and another seriously injured.

Good Samaritans Become Victims

Twenty-one-year-old Zaid Shah Qadri, a student driving an Innova Crysta, did what many hope they would do in such situations—he stopped immediately after the initial collision and rushed to help the injured pedestrian. Syed Amer Hussain also stopped to assist. But as they tended to Ray, two vehicles approaching from the Khajaguda side struck both the pedestrian and Qadri before fleeing the scene. Ray succumbed to his injuries while Qadri suffered a fractured right leg and other wounds.

The Investigation Unfolds

Raidurgam police scoured CCTV footage along the Khajaguda-Financial District route, eventually tracing one of the vehicles involved in the second collision to Sandeep. On September 1, authorities seized his Mahindra XUV electric vehicle and took him into custody. The police have now written to the Regional Transport Authority, seeking licence cancellation as their investigation continues.
