A 33-year-old woman riding pillion on a motorcycle was killed on Saturday morning when a car rammed into the two-wheeler from behind on the Shamshabad Airport Approach Road. The crash was captured on CCTV, and the footage — showing the car allegedly speeding away after the impact — has since gone viral. The RGIA police have booked a case.

A morning ride that ended in tragedy

It was barely past dawn when the collision happened — about 6.43 a.m., near a U-turn on the approach road. Radhika was travelling on a motorcycle bearing registration number TS 07 HX 0918 when the car, an airport taxi bearing registration number TG 07 X 8636 and driven by Nalavalla Umakanth, hit the two-wheeler from behind.

Radhika sustained severe injuries to her head and face. She was shifted to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

The CCTV clip, which captured the sequence of events, has been circulating widely ever since — a few seconds of video that turned a quiet Saturday morning into a story the city is now watching closely.

A taxi with a trail of violations

According to details available on the e-challan website, the car is registered in the name of 'Carrum Mobility Solu'. The vehicle is an airport taxi operated through Uber. The records also show five traffic violations against the vehicle between July and September — including two signal-jumping fines issued on the same day in August.
