Sagar Collector Pratibha Pal confirmed that health screenings began immediately in both villages. "Interactions with locals have pointed out that the deaths occurred after they consumed illegal spurious liquor," she told PTI by phone. Four to five affected individuals were transferred to Bundelkhand Medical College and Hospital complaining of headache and vomiting.
