Speaking at his camp office on Thursday, Naidu delivered a clear message to Telugu Desam Party leaders: prepare early, aim higher, and keep the alliance intact.

Alliance harmony takes center stage

Naidu struck a cautious tone when discussing the three-party alliance. This marks the first time TDP will contest local elections alongside BJP and Jana Sena, and the Chief Minister made it clear that internal squabbling won't be tolerated. He warned that the opposition YSR Congress Party would eagerly exploit any signs of friction among allies.

“There should be no squabbling under any circumstances as the YSR Congress Party would look to turn any strife among the allies to its advantage.”

Grassroots strategy and representation

The TDP chief outlined a two-pronged approach: blending experienced leaders with fresh faces while taking the government's accomplishments directly to voters through village-level door-to-door campaigns. Naidu emphasized that candidate selection would prioritize performance and public acceptance, with particular attention to youth and women representation.

He also reaffirmed the party's commitment to providing 34% reservations for Backward Classes in local bodies, adhering to the 1995 Act—a promise that signals the party's focus on social inclusion alongside political strategy.

Naidu expressed confidence in the public's response to his government's functioning, describing it as positive energy that shouldn't be wasted. The local body elections, he noted, present an opportunity to analyze the party's performance and build on their 2024 Assembly success.
