Ms. Shabari didn't mince words when comparing the current administration's approach with the previous government. While the YSRCP government took five years to increase pensions by ₹1,000, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's coalition government moved with striking speed. Immediately after assuming power, they disbursed ₹7,000 to beneficiaries—₹3,000 accumulated over three months before elections plus the newly enhanced ₹4,000 monthly pension.

Focus on the Most Vulnerable

The real story here isn't just about numbers—it's about who benefits most. The coalition government has specifically targeted those in greatest need. Persons with disabilities saw their pensions double to ₹6,000 monthly, a significant boost that acknowledges the extra costs they face. But the most vulnerable—those with 100% disability or bedridden due to illness—now receive ₹10,000 monthly, delivered directly to their homes.

"The credit for doubling the pension for persons with disabilities from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 per month goes to Mr. Naidu," Ms. Shabari stated during the distribution event.

Ground-Level Implementation

Ms. Shabari didn't just oversee the process—she visited beneficiaries personally, handing them their pensions and asking about their well-being. Local officials including Gadivemula Tahsildar Venkataramana and MPDO Vasudeva Gupta joined the effort, creating a coordinated approach that reached right into people's homes.
