Ponnur's ₹15.71 Crore Road Revival Accelerates Under Government Push

PONNUR — The dust is settling, but the momentum is anything but quiet. Across Ponnur constituency, a network of road development projects valued at ₹15.71 crore is charging ahead, fueled by coordinated efforts from both Central and State governments. Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, confirmed the brisk pace of work on Saturday, signaling a tangible shift for local communities long awaiting better connectivity.

Funding and Collaboration Drive Progress

Mr. Chandra Sekhar emphasized that significant development funds are flowing into the constituency, with ₹2 crore of his annual ₹5 crore MP allocation directed specifically to Ponnur. He also noted that Central funds are being secured for bridge projects in Guntur, while several local tanks are being developed in cooperation with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

Addressing Local Challenges

Alongside MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar, the Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects spanning multiple mandals. Mr. Narendra acknowledged that villagers had persistently appealed for better roads, which faced delays due to high costs and procedural formalities. He assured that repairs to a bridge damaged in an accident would wrap up within a month, with work on a new bridge also accelerated.
