HYDERABAD — In a move that could redefine India's technological landscape, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Tata Consultancy Services have inked a staggering ₹70,000 crore deal to build the nation's largest artificial intelligence data center. The facility, set to rise in Future City, is poised for completion by June 2, 2028 — a date chosen to coincide with Telangana Formation Day.

A Promise Kept

The seeds for this colossal project were sown months earlier, during a quiet conversation at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Chief Minister Reddy recalled his January 2026 meeting with Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, where he made a simple request: bring "big news" to Telangana. "He smiled and accepted," Reddy said, his voice carrying the weight of a promise fulfilled.

Building the Future

TCS subsidiary HyperVault will spearhead the development of a massive AI data center campus with capacity reaching up to 1 gigawatt. The announcement comes as Telangana seeks to position itself at the forefront of India's AI revolution, with Reddy emphasizing policy continuity regardless of political changes. "There is no policy paralysis in my State," he assured investors, his words echoing through the conference hall.

The 50-km Radial Road-1 connecting to Future City will be dedicated to Bharat Ratna award winner Ratan Tata, fulfilling Reddy's pledge to honor major investors.

A Civilizational Shift

TCS CEO K Krithivasan framed the project in sweeping terms, calling AI not merely a technological disruption but "a civilisational shift." His words carried the gravity of someone who understands this isn't just another data center — it's potentially the foundation for India's AI future.
