According to documents submitted by a complainant to Lok Bhavan, Prof. Niranjana allegedly used KSHEC funds to cover personal expenses and private entertainment. The evidence, gathered through Right to Information requests, paints a troubling picture of public money being diverted for private use. Among the reimbursements: bills from a Bengaluru club and a supermarket, totaling ₹34,350 for refreshments in just two months.

A Matter of Trust

The Governor's letter strikes a concerned tone about the broader implications. "Having tainted individuals in high positions in such a high-ranking institution creates distrust among academicians, teachers and students towards the institution," Gehlot wrote. His words underscore the delicate trust that binds educational institutions to the public they serve—trust now shaken by these allegations.

"The supporting documents submitted along with the representation shows that the reimbursements are claimed for many bills from the council funds and they apparently seem to be not abiding to the rule."

Call for Accountability

Gehlot's directive leaves no room for ambiguity. He has asked the Higher Education Minister to "look into the matter personally and take necessary action against those concerned at the earliest."
