In a heartfelt appeal blending artistry and determination, a young student from Telangana’s Sangareddy district turned to thread and patience to capture the attention of Congress leader T. Jagga Reddy—and with it, a promise of help.

  • Bhavani, a former Model School student, has paused her ACCA studies due to financial strain.
  • Her family’s 2.5-acre land has been entangled in a dispute with revenue authorities for 12 years.
  • She presented the handcrafted portrait to Jagga Reddy on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

A Creative Plea for Help

Bhavani, from Kappad village, had already completed the first level of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) course when financial pressures forced her to halt her studies six months ago. Her family’s unresolved land dispute—stretching back over a decade—left them unable to sell the property and secure funds for her education.

Her father’s suggestion to discontinue her studies only strengthened her resolve. Drawing on a childhood interest in art, she spent ten meticulous days crafting a detailed thread-art portrait of the Congress leader.

Hope in a Handmade Gift

When she met Jagga Reddy in Sangareddy, she presented the portrait—a symbol of both respect and her urgent need for assistance. Moved by her story and the effort behind the gift, Reddy responded with empathy and action.

He assured her that he would speak to Sangareddy Collector Prateek Jain and work towards resolving the issue.

He also encouraged Bhavani not to abandon her education and promised his support. For a student who refused to give up, it was a moment of validation and hope.
