After weathering delays from land disputes and court cases, Telangana’s ambitious Nagpur–Mancherial–Warangal–Khammam–Vijayawada Greenfield Highway is firmly back on track, with a new deadline set for December 31, 2027. Overcoming Obstacles

But the minister assured that nearly all those hurdles have now been cleared. “Almost all land acquisition issues have been resolved,” Venkat Reddy stated. “Only minor issues involving small stretches of land remain.”

Responding to concerns from MLCs, the minister pledged that local communities wouldn’t be left behind. He promised an exit near Parkal for residents and guaranteed fair compensation at market rates for acquired land. It’s a delicate balance—pushing a vital infrastructure project forward while respecting the lives it disrupts.

With tenders awarded and packages divided, the physical construction now rests with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), while the state handles the remaining land handover. Coordination between the two will be key to hitting that 2027 finish line. After a review by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in May, the project seems to have the high-level attention it needs.
