With just two weeks until Lord Venkateswara's annual Salakatla Brahmotsavam begins, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has drawn a line in the sand: all engineering works must be completed within seven days.

Crunch Time for Sacred Preparations

TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary presided over a crucial review meeting at the Sudharma conference hall on Tuesday. The atmosphere was one of determined urgency as engineers detailed their progress on numerous fronts. From whitewashing the main temple to restoring grills around the Pushkarini sacred tank, every detail matters when preparing for the hundreds of thousands of devotees expected.

Comprehensive Readiness Check

Chief Engineer Manoharam and his team briefed the Additional EO on an impressive range of preparations. Electrical illumination, water storage levels in dams, vehicle fitness for festival transport, and facility management at guest accommodations all received thorough scrutiny. While most works are reportedly complete, several remain in the final stages—hence the pressing deadline.

Mr. Chowdary directed the engineering officials to complete all civil works in time, stressing that no pending work should cause inconvenience to devotees during the festival period.

Beyond the Temple Walls

The preparations extend to cultural preservation as well. The Sri Venkateswara Museum, scheduled for inauguration by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during Brahmotsavam, also underwent progress review. Superintending Engineers Venugopal and Venkateswarlu, along with Executive Engineers Srinivasulu and Sudhakar, all participated in ensuring every aspect of the pilgrimage experience meets the TTD's high standards.
