In an effort to resolve the ongoing deadlock in Parliament, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is prepared to address the House regarding the Delhi Police's actions against student protesters.

The announcement follows sustained pressure from opposition benches, which disrupted proceedings to demand accountability over police conduct and other political issues.

Opposition Demands and Lok Sabha Adjournment

The Congress party has been particularly vocal in demanding statements from top government figures. Opposition members insisted that Home Minister Amit Shah address the alleged police excesses against protesting students, while also demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak on the 'chanda chori' (donation theft) issue.

Amid noisy protests from opposition members, proceedings in the Lok Sabha were temporarily halted and the House was adjourned till 2 PM. Prior to the adjournment, four legislative bills were introduced in the House.

Congress Writes to Lok Sabha Speaker

Taking the demand a step further, Congress leader K.C. Venugopal formally wrote to the Lok Sabha Speaker. In his letter, Venugopal urged the Speaker to ensure that the Home Minister makes an official statement on the floor of the House regarding the police actions targeted at the students.

Possibility of Ending Parliamentary Logjam

With Minister Kiren Rijiju confirming Amit Shah's willingness to respond to the student protest issue in Parliament, the government signals an intention to end the parliamentary standstill and move forward with legislative business.
