Surekha’s exit from the cabinet came swiftly after her daughter Sushmitha made critical remarks about Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Though visibly pained by what she called her dismissal for “no valid reason,” Surekha insisted she had brought no disrepute to her ministerial role.

A Family’s Resolve

Surekha revealed she’d received calls from the party high command and expressed hope that her husband, former MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao, would soon be offered a chairman position in a state corporation. “We are not in politics for posts,” she asserted, pushing back against what she described as “opportunistic politics.” “We are here to serve the people.”
