Telangana CM Urges Vaishya Community to Unite for Political Clout

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made a heartfelt appeal to the Arya Vaishya community on Sunday, urging them to stand united and secure their rightful place in the state's political landscape. Speaking at a community gathering in Hyderabad, he emphasized that collective strength would bring both respect and representation.

A Community of Dignity and Foresight

Revanth Reddy spoke warmly about the community's character—noting their soft-spoken nature, self-respect, and sharp foresight. He observed that even those facing economic hardship preferred to live with dignity rather than seek classification as a backward community. His words carried a tone of deep respect, acknowledging their quiet resilience.

Honoring a Political Mentor

The Chief Minister fondly recalled former Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah, a respected Arya Vaishya leader. He highlighted Rosaiah’s critical role as Finance Minister when Telangana was formed on June 2, 2014—leaving the new state with a surplus budget of ₹16,000 crore. “Rosaiah was the first to recognise me,” Reddy revealed, sharing how the senior leader once advised him to temper his emotions and use experience to advance in politics.

In a move to preserve this legacy, Reddy’s government has installed a statue of Rosaiah in the heart of Hyderabad—a gesture he described as honoring both the leader and his bond with the city.

Historical Contributions and Future Promises

Revanth Reddy also nodded to broader historical contributions, describing Mahatma Gandhi as “the only truly global leader from India” and recalling Potti Sriramulu’s sacrifice in the struggle for Andhra Pradesh’s formation.

Looking ahead, he promised government support for building the Arya Vaishya Atma Gaurava Bhavan. He pointed to recent steps his administration has already taken—assigning a corporation post to a community representative and appointing an Arya Vaishya member as chairperson of a municipality in Kodangal.
